Submitting to the Cople Web Site

Articles

Articles are best submitted in plain text, eg as an email or simple text file.

I am happy to receive WORD documents but if they have an elaborate font and layout I cannot guarantee to keep the same format, often I will have to convert them to plain text but I will try to keep the same "flavour" as the original. I often have a problem copying to the web page any pictures imbedded in the article.

Long paragraphs, which may work well on a printed page, are not so easy to read on a web page. I often break long paragraphs up into shorter ones to improve the presentation on the web page
 

Pictures

I am very happy to receive pictures for the Cople Pictures web site.

Please be sure they are your own pictures or that you have permission for them to be included on the web site.

Modern digital cameras often create files that are very large. Most email system will not accept an email when the total size is over about 8Mb. So if you are attaching images to an email be sure the total size does not exceed 8Mb. It may help to send just one large image per email.

If you know how to shrink the size of an image before it is emailed to me try to make the image file between about 100k and 300k bytes.

I may crop the image if I feel it would be better presented that way.

If you have any text to include with the image, eg description of event, person's name, then it would be welcome.

I can scan old prints if required and will return the print undamaged.
