DESCRIPTION:Friends of Cople Church will be selling tickets from January for the Safari Supper\, which has always been one of our best supported events. \nThe date is set for Saturday 25th February 2023. \nThe evening starts off in the church where guests find out which host’s home they will visit for their starter\, then onto somewhere else for their main and then back to the church for desserts\, a drink and the raffle draw. \nWe are always happy to have new volunteer hosts\, so please contact me if you want to host 4-6 guests for a starter or main course. Meal preparation expenses can be claimed back. \nThe ticket price will include a welcome drink as well as a three-course meal\, so it is great value for money\, & is an excellent way of meeting new people\, especially if you are new to the village. \nWe are reviewing the exact format of the evening\, given we need a certain number of host volunteers for starters & main course\, however we would keep the safari element of the evening\, but some aspects may change. \nTickets £17.50\, price includes a Welcome Drink and 3-course meal \nWine will be on sale but feel free to bring your own \nFor offers of help or tickets please contact Miles Tetley 07738 999340 / milotetley@gmail.com or Charlie Porter 07790 335284

DESCRIPTION:Friends of Cople Church \nAfter the disappointment of having to cancel the Safari Supper in February\, we are glad to announce that the Barn Dance is planned to go ahead. The last two years have taught us that we cannot say with absolute certainty\, but the intention is to hold it at the usual location\, Oak Farm\, Northill on Saturday 25th June. The band\, Kelly’s Eye\, has been booked\, so all we need is people to come and dance – or just eat the barbecued pork and drink from the bar. So\, start practising your Dosey Does\, Promenading and Stripping the Willow! \nThis is a very popular event\, so I would suggest you get your ticket requests in early. Tickets will be priced at £17.50 and will go on sale immediately. We ask that tickets be paid for at time of request or at least before the night\, and to make that easier the bank details for bank transfer payment can be found below. Remember to tell us of any dietary requirements. \nWe are looking at other events for later in the year – a repeat of the successful and popular Gin Night is a possibility – albeit tweaked\, and there is the threat of another Panto. Oh yes there is! \nThese events are run to raise funds for the upkeep of All Saints Church in Cople. DESCRIPTION:Flower Festival\nTo celebrate The Queens Platinum Jubilee Cople Church will host a flower festival on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June. \nWe would like it to be a community event to represent our village. It would be perfect if all clubs and organisations\, groups of people\, families or individuals took part. \nThe theme\, of course\, will be the Queen. Garden flowers\, wildflowers\, greenery and if you wish to use bought flowers. It is your choice. \nIt is not a competition\, a simple vase of flowers is always a delight. DESCRIPTION:70 years Celebration – Moggerhanger Park – Beacon and song\n \nSING ALONG WITH US\nWe do hope that you have put June 2nd into your diary\, and will be able to come to Moggerhanger Park for the lighting of our Beacon at 9.45pm and the singing of the Song for the Commonwealth. \nToo late for the children?   Well no\, as we have four days’ holiday and they can sleep in!! \nThere are four chances to learn our song on:  \n\nMonday 16 May at Cople Church\nTuesday 17 May at Willington Church:\nWednesday 18 May at Moggerhanger Church.The above churches will be open at 6.45pm\, we will sing at 7pm and be home before 8pm.   Do please make the effort to come along to one of these sessions\, and collect a copy of the words\nSunday 29 May Gwynneth Akins is also taking a rehearsal at 11.45am after the service at Willington Methodist Chapel.\n\nChoose which day is most convenient for you or come to all of them if you want to!! \nIf you want to listen to the song beforehand or want to have your own copy of the words CLICK HERE: \nEveryone is welcome. \n\nJUNE THE SECOND\nWe are so happy to be part of the Commonwealth Celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee\, along with many other choirs across the UK and Commonwealth. Our official Benefice Choir photo which has been taken especially for the Commonwealth Resounds’ records below. \nThis is a Historical occasion\, children in the future will read about it in their history books\, so you’ll need a flag to wave on the evening\, your copy of the song and a torch. \nMoggerhanger Park will be open from 6.30pm. There will be bands playing between 7pm and 8pm\, while you can enjoy a drink from the bar\, or a juicy morsel from the Barbecue. \nThere’ll be Face Painting for the children\, as well as a Bouncy Castle\, and Dance music in the Courtyard from 8.30pm until 9pm and again\, at the end of the evening. \nPlease note that while there is no charge for admission\, we will all need a ticket to get into the Park. You should apply on their web-site www.moggerhangerpark.com where there are further details about the Event.\nFrom 9.30pm we join with the other Commonwealth countries and all parts of the British Isles in paying respects to our Queen. Our Master of Ceremonies will introduce the Fanfare\, The Earl of Erroll will light the Beacon\, and we will sing the special song we have learnt. \nAfter The National Anthem\, the Master of Ceremonies will lead us in three cheers for Her Majesty\, you can applaud\, wave your flags\, listen to some more music\, buy the last sausage on the Barbecue\, and then we’ll make our ways home safely. \nGates will be closed at 11pm. \nFinally . . . DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Cople Church \n \nWe are pleased to announce that the much-touted Gin Event will finally take place on Saturday 27th November in the Village Hall at 7:00pm. \nThe ticket price is £15\, for which you will get: \nA Gin glass to take away – so we do not have to do any washing up! \nA token for 1 Gin or 2 soft drinks. \nFood (pate\, cheese\, cold meats\, bread\, fruit). Feel free to bring crisps\, etc. \nTonics\, ice\, and additions (lime\, lemon\, etc.). \nA table quiz. \nPhilla will serenade you. \nFurther gin tokens can be purchased at £10 for 3 or £4 for 1 – there will be many different gins to try. \nSeating will be communal\, so there is no need to be part of or make up a party. \nPlus! Win the coveted Cople Flavoured Gin Trophy! \nThere will be a competition to identify the best flavoured gin made by yourselves. Entry is free\, simply requiring a 25ml bottle of your gin\, just showing the flavour (sloe\, blackberry\, orange\, rhubarb\, strawberry\, chilli\, etc.) You can enter more than one flavour. \nThe cost of being a judge is £10 payable on the night – you will have to taste the gins (an onerous task) and identify your top 3. The voting mechanism will be explained on the night. \nThere will be a bar selling wine\, beer\, cider\, and soft drinks if you need a break from gin or it is not you tipple of choice. \nThere will be a raffle\, so prize donations will be gratefully received\, and at the end of the evening part used bottles of gin will be auctioned. \nIf you wish to purchase tickets\, please contact: \nMiles Tetley – 07738 999340 or milotetley@gmail.com \nCharlie Porter – 07790 335284 \nPlease note\, The Friends can now take card payments. \nThe Friends of Cople Church \nThe Friends raise money for the upkeep of the historic Grade 1 listed All Saints Church in Cople and many of you will have attended events we have run – safari supper\, barn dance\, pantomimes\, talks\, quizzes\, etc. \nThe fund-raising committee do all the organising\, but often we are short of helpers on the night to serve food or drink\, be on the door to check tickets etc.\, or simply help set up and clear up. \nSo\, we are looking for volunteers to help at events. The benefit of doing this is that helpers get free entry – you can still enjoy the event and eat and drink.
