It’s a great way to meet people and extend your range of friends \nThe Safari Supperers will meet at the Church at 7pm \nYou will be divided into groups of 6 to 8 people\, each group moves onto their allocated host’s house for starters \nAfter starters your group breaks up and you join a different group at a different host’s house for your main course \nFinally\, everyone staggers back to the Church for desserts \nYour ticket\, £20 pp\, includes a welcome drink at the Church and a three-course meal. Specify any dietary requirements so your host is made aware of this \nWine will be on sale but also feel free to bring your own \nAs you can imagine\, quite a large number of people are required to help. DESCRIPTION:Please note: this event was originally scheduled for 15th July\n  \nCharlie and Carolyn Porter will host a guided farm walk at Wood End farm\, followed by a BBQ. \n  \nThe cost will be £10 for adults and £5 for children under 14 The ticket price includes a burger or sausage and a soft drink. There will be no bar\, though soft drinks will be available. \n  \nThis event is on behalf of the Friends of Cople Church \n  \nThe walk will last about 1.5 hours and will be about 1.5 miles over grass fields and farm tracks. So\, attendees should wear suitable walking shoes\, and need to be able to complete the walk\, which means it may not be suitable for very small children. \n  \nAs we are hoping to see wildlife\, we won’t be able to take dogs\, and it will be weather dependent\, so may be cancelled at short notice. DESCRIPTION:Friends of Cople Church will be selling tickets from January for the Safari Supper\, which has always been one of our best supported events. \nThe date is set for Saturday 25th February 2023. \nThe evening starts off in the church where guests find out which host’s home they will visit for their starter\, then onto somewhere else for their main and then back to the church for desserts\, a drink and the raffle draw. \nWe are always happy to have new volunteer hosts\, so please contact me if you want to host 4-6 guests for a starter or main course. DESCRIPTION:Friends of All Saints Church\, Cople – Gin Night \n  \nSadly\, we have had to cancel the Gin Night scheduled for Saturday 22nd October.\nUnfortunately\, we sold very few tickets\, which meant the event could not go ahead. The events we organise are to raise money for the upkeep of All Saints Church Cople\, but as with every occasion like the one planned\, there are expenses. The ticket sales we had with a little over a week to go would not have covered the costs we would have incurred\, so we had no option but to cancel.\nThank you to those who did commit to tickets\, and we apologise for the cancellation.\nThe next event we are planning is the Safari Supper at the end of February\, for which more details will be provided in  the near future\nMiles Tetley\n  \n  \nThe Friends are pleased to announce that another gin night will be held on the evening of Saturday 22nd October in the Village Hall. \n  \nTicket price is £17.50 per person\, which will include your first gin or 2 soft drinks\, plus the food we will be serving. DESCRIPTION:Friends of Cople Church \nAfter the disappointment of having to cancel the Safari Supper in February\, we are glad to announce that the Barn Dance is planned to go ahead. The last two years have taught us that we cannot say with absolute certainty\, but the intention is to hold it at the usual location\, Oak Farm\, Northill on Saturday 25th June. The band\, Kelly’s Eye\, has been booked\, so all we need is people to come and dance – or just eat the barbecued pork and drink from the bar. So\, start practising your Dosey Does\, Promenading and Stripping the Willow! \nThis is a very popular event\, so I would suggest you get your ticket requests in early. Tickets will be priced at £17.50 and will go on sale immediately. We ask that tickets be paid for at time of request or at least before the night\, and to make that easier the bank details for bank transfer payment can be found below. Remember to tell us of any dietary requirements. \nWe are looking at other events for later in the year – a repeat of the successful and popular Gin Night is a possibility – albeit tweaked\, and there is the threat of another Panto. Oh yes there is! \nThese events are run to raise funds for the upkeep of All Saints Church in Cople. Feel free to bring crisps\, etc. \nTonics\, ice\, and additions (lime\, lemon\, etc.). \nA table quiz. \nPhilla will serenade you. \nFurther gin tokens can be purchased at £10 for 3 or £4 for 1 – there will be many different gins to try. \nSeating will be communal\, so there is no need to be part of or make up a party. \nPlus! Win the coveted Cople Flavoured Gin Trophy! \nThere will be a competition to identify the best flavoured gin made by yourselves. Entry is free\, simply requiring a 25ml bottle of your gin\, just showing the flavour (sloe\, blackberry\, orange\, rhubarb\, strawberry\, chilli\, etc.) You can enter more than one flavour. \nThe cost of being a judge is £10 payable on the night – you will have to taste the gins (an onerous task) and identify your top 3. The benefit of doing this is that helpers get free entry – you can still enjoy the event and eat and drink. DESCRIPTION:Cople Players\, on behalf of the Friends of Cople Church are preparing to inflict the crime of pantomime on the good citizens of Cople once more. \nOn Friday 9th and Saturday 10th March 2018\, three performances of Snow White and Some Dwarfs will take place in the village hall. \nCast and crew are hard at work\, perfecting their lines and performances – well perfecting may be a bit of an exaggeration\, but they are showing willing. DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Cople Church invite you to participate in the annual Safari Supper on Saturday 3rd February meeting at 19:00 in All Saints Church\, ticket price £15 per head. \nThis is a very popular and fun event and allows people to meet folk from the village who they may normally not have contact with. If you are not familiar with the format\, when you meet at the church you will be given the address of your host for your starter\, and at that venue you will be informed where your main course will be served. Finally we meet back at the church for dessert. \nThe evening has been so successful because of our volunteer hosts\, who over the years have provided some wonderful meals and hospitality\, but we need new blood! So please take the plunge\, especially if new to the village\, and come along and volunteer to host 4-6 guests for a starter or a main course. There is a budget\, and you can claim back from the Friends if you wish. \nTickets are available from Miles Tetley (miles.tetley@tesco.net or 07738 999340) and Quentin Dawson (07810 244343).
