DESCRIPTION:Friends of Cople Church \nAfter the disappointment of having to cancel the Safari Supper in February\, we are glad to announce that the Barn Dance is planned to go ahead. The last two years have taught us that we cannot say with absolute certainty\, but the intention is to hold it at the usual location\, Oak Farm\, Northill on Saturday 25th June. The band\, Kelly’s Eye\, has been booked\, so all we need is people to come and dance – or just eat the barbecued pork and drink from the bar. So\, start practising your Dosey Does\, Promenading and Stripping the Willow! \nThis is a very popular event\, so I would suggest you get your ticket requests in early. Tickets will be priced at £17.50 and will go on sale immediately. We ask that tickets be paid for at time of request or at least before the night\, and to make that easier the bank details for bank transfer payment can be found below. Remember to tell us of any dietary requirements. \nWe are looking at other events for later in the year – a repeat of the successful and popular Gin Night is a possibility – albeit tweaked\, and there is the threat of another Panto. Oh yes there is! \nThese events are run to raise funds for the upkeep of All Saints Church in Cople. DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Cople Church \n \nWe are pleased to announce that the much-touted Gin Event will finally take place on Saturday 27th November in the Village Hall at 7:00pm. \nThe ticket price is £15\, for which you will get: \nA Gin glass to take away – so we do not have to do any washing up! \nA token for 1 Gin or 2 soft drinks. \nFood (pate\, cheese\, cold meats\, bread\, fruit). Feel free to bring crisps\, etc. \nTonics\, ice\, and additions (lime\, lemon\, etc.). \nA table quiz. \nPhilla will serenade you. \nFurther gin tokens can be purchased at £10 for 3 or £4 for 1 – there will be many different gins to try. \nSeating will be communal\, so there is no need to be part of or make up a party. \nPlus! Win the coveted Cople Flavoured Gin Trophy! \nThere will be a competition to identify the best flavoured gin made by yourselves. Entry is free\, simply requiring a 25ml bottle of your gin\, just showing the flavour (sloe\, blackberry\, orange\, rhubarb\, strawberry\, chilli\, etc.) You can enter more than one flavour. \nThe cost of being a judge is £10 payable on the night – you will have to taste the gins (an onerous task) and identify your top 3. The voting mechanism will be explained on the night. \nThere will be a bar selling wine\, beer\, cider\, and soft drinks if you need a break from gin or it is not you tipple of choice. \nThere will be a raffle\, so prize donations will be gratefully received\, and at the end of the evening part used bottles of gin will be auctioned. \nIf you wish to purchase tickets\, please contact: \nMiles Tetley – 07738 999340 or milotetley@gmail.com \nCharlie Porter – 07790 335284 \nPlease note\, The Friends can now take card payments. \nThe Friends of Cople Church \nThe Friends raise money for the upkeep of the historic Grade 1 listed All Saints Church in Cople and many of you will have attended events we have run – safari supper\, barn dance\, pantomimes\, talks\, quizzes\, etc. \nThe fund-raising committee do all the organising\, but often we are short of helpers on the night to serve food or drink\, be on the door to check tickets etc.\, or simply help set up and clear up. \nSo\, we are looking for volunteers to help at events. The benefit of doing this is that helpers get free entry – you can still enjoy the event and eat and drink. DESCRIPTION:Ladies and Gentlemen of Cople\, \n  \nAfter a missing a year\, the annual Rounders Competition between Cople and Cardington for the “Bashes” trophy\, will take place on Cople Playing field near the Sports and Social Club on: \n  \nFriday 27th August 2021 @ 18:30 \n  \nThe Sports and Social Club bar will open at 18:00\, to take advantage of the athletes need to re-hydrate. \n  \nWe need volunteers to take part in the team for which entry or participation\, will be £5. All ages are welcome\, especially those who are fleet of foot and have good hand-eye coordination. \n  \nTwo years ago Cople thrashed Cardington\, much to their disgust. The fact that Cople provided the umpire had nothing whatsoever to do with it. But in the spirit of fair play\, Cardington will be supplying the umpire this year – it will of course make no difference to the result at all! \n  \nWe will also be running a cake stall\, which is of course the food of choice of rounders players. So if you fancy your hand at baking and wish to donate a cake please do so\, bringing it on the evening or dropping off to me before the day. (7 Woodlands Close). \n  \nFunds raised will be split between the Friends of Cople Church and Friends of Cardington Church. \n  \nSo please come along and take part or support\, eat cake and drink. \n  \nRegards\, \n  \nMiles

DESCRIPTION:Cople Players\, on behalf of the Friends of Cople Church are preparing to inflict the crime of pantomime on the good citizens of Cople once more. \nOn Friday 9th and Saturday 10th March 2018\, three performances of Snow White and Some Dwarfs will take place in the village hall. \nCast and crew are hard at work\, perfecting their lines and performances – well perfecting may be a bit of an exaggeration\, but they are showing willing. It promises to be a memorable experience\, though possibly not in the way intended. \nTickets will be available in February\, so put the dates in your diary – more details to follow\, but here are the prices. \n                Friday night £10 per person \n                Saturday Matinee £8 Adults / £5 Children under 14 \n                Saturday night £12 per person \n

DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Cople Church invite you to participate in the annual Safari Supper on Saturday 3rd February meeting at 19:00 in All Saints Church\, ticket price £15 per head. \nThis is a very popular and fun event and allows people to meet folk from the village who they may normally not have contact with. If you are not familiar with the format\, when you meet at the church you will be given the address of your host for your starter\, and at that venue you will be informed where your main course will be served. Finally we meet back at the church for dessert. \nThe evening has been so successful because of our volunteer hosts\, who over the years have provided some wonderful meals and hospitality\, but we need new blood! So please take the plunge\, especially if new to the village\, and come along and volunteer to host 4-6 guests for a starter or a main course. There is a budget\, and you can claim back from the Friends if you wish. \nTickets are available from Miles Tetley (miles.tetley@tesco.net or 07738 999340) and Quentin Dawson (07810 244343).
