Nature Reserve and Dog Field
At the northern edge of the village with access from the main Bedford Road lies the Cople nature reserve, “Cople Pits”, and Dog Field.
The nature reserve is the legacy from a small sand and gravel excavation. It consists of a small wild area, a small copse and a several “finger” lakes within the wooded copse. There are many wild blackberry bushes which make it popular with the local inhabitants from late August through to October.
Next to the reserve is a field which was once farmed by Dog Farm. It now forms part of the Marston Vale Community Forest scheme and has been planted with young trees.
